ASAE's Technology Conference Expo Records Highest Attendance in its 10 Year History

WASHINGTON—ASAE hosted its 10th Technology Conference & Expo, December 14-16, at the Gaylord National® Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor, Maryland. With a total of 1,292 total participants, it was the highest attended conference in the event’s history. Participants took part in 42 high-level practical education sessions within five pathways (Disrupters; Leadership & Strategy; Learning & Technology; MarComm & Technology; and The Business of IT) and a sold-out Expo Hall.


Stratton-Angerosa ASAE Foundation Launching New Research Grant Focused on Publishing, Communication, Media Issues and Practices

WASHINGTON— ASAE Foundation received a $50,000 grant from The Angerosa Research Foundation and Stratton Media Strategies, LLC. The funds are earmarked for future research projects to explore the issues and trends relating to publishing, communication, and media issues and practices in the association community.


ASAE Testifies at DC Council Hearing on Proposed Paid Leave Act

ASAE Sells Limited Partnership of Building to Duwaliya US Real Estate Inc

WASHINGTON — ASAE announces that 1575 Eye Street, the building where they have a limited partnership and have been occupants since 1980, was sold to Duwaliya US Real Estate, Inc. With the limited partnership, ASAE will receive a portion of the sale. Exact amount of distribution to ASAE after taxes and expenses of the sale has not been determined. ASAE’s lease runs through 2025.

WASHINGTON — More than 5,400 association professionals and industry partners attended the 2015 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, August 8-11, in Detroit. Attendees participated in more than 130 education sessions, networked in the exhibit hall, and took part in Detroit Destination Tours and EduTours. The ASAE Foundation sold more than 2,000 tickets to The Classic, held at Detroit's Fox Theatre, which is the highest attendance in its history.

ASAE Announces Four Recipients for its Inaugural Scholarly Research in Association Management Grants

WASHINGTON— ASAE Foundation names four university programs to receive research grants in the new Scholarly Research in Association Management Grants program. The SRGP is one vehicle the Foundation uses to advance knowledge in association management through rigorous research efforts. The lead investigators will receive funds to support research on a cross-section of questions relevant to nonprofit membership and member-based associations. Each award is for one year, at a level of $7,500 --- with the funding period beginning this month.


ASAE Foundation Opens Call for Innovation Grants Program Applications

Now in its fourth year, IGP is a program that provides monetary awards to support innovation exploration and development in the association community. ASAE Responds to Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act

WASHINGTON — Today, ASAE sent a letter to Indiana’s Governor Pence and to the majority and minority leaders of Indiana’s House and Senate asking them to adopt corrective language to the Senate Bill 101, the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” (RFRA). ASAE wants a clear civil rights carve-out in RFRA.


ASAE Hosted Successful Great Ideas Conference in Hong Kong

WASHINGTON — ASAE expanded its Great Ideas Conference this year and hosted its first international event in Hong Kong from March 22-24. ASAE’s Great Ideas in Association Management Conference, Asia-Pacific had 176 participants from 16 countries, with 83 percent buyers (association staff) and 17 percent sellers (industry partners). The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), an event partner of ASAE, was the conference sponsor.

ASAE Great Ideas Conference Makes History With Highest Attendance In Orlando

WASHINGTON— The 806 attendees at this year’s ASAE’s Great Ideas Conference, March 8-10, represent the highest attendance in its 12 year history and 15 percent increase from last year’s record-breaking numbers. Job Task Analysis Results Help ASAE Create Valuable Resources for the Association Community

WASHINGTON—Last year, ASAE conducted a Job Task Analysis that explored the core functional areas of association management. The results of this work will help in developing a comprehensive Body of Knowledge for the association field and CAE content outline. Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO) conducted the research, and the survey results confirmed identifiable competencies that reflect important elements of knowledge for those who work in associations.

There are six open positions: Secretary-Treasurer and five At Large Directors (four At Large and one Industry Partner). All directors selected will serve on the ASAE Board and two of the four selected will also serve on the ASAE Foundation Board.

ASAE Foundation Launches Applications for New Scholarly Research in Association Management Grants

WASHINGTON—ASAE Foundation has launched a new research grant program called Scholarly Research in Association Management Grants, which provides awards to support research on topics of association management. The program is intended to primarily fund research conducted by investigators in the academic community and academic practitioner (association management professionals) collaborations.
