WASHINGTON—After 32 years in the association management profession, Anne Blouin, CAE, will retire in August after the 2015 ASAE Annual Meeting and Exposition in Detroit. She will work closely with staff to ensure a smooth and seamless transition to FY 16.

“I’m truly thankful for all the years that I’ve worked at ASAE, and I’m going to miss working and managing the Learning initiatives. I’ve been surrounded by fantastic colleagues, the community has taught me a great deal about the profession as well as developed long lasting friendships. I’m looking forward to retirement and what the future will bring,” said ASAE Chief Learning Officer Anne Blouin, CAE.

Blouin first worked at ASAE as Director of Education from 1983-1996. After 6 years at the American Society for Training and Development, she joined the staff of GWSAE as Chief Learning Officer. When GWSAE and ASAE merged in 2004, she has been instrumental in creating an overall strategy for achieving ASAE’s vision and mission through learning.

She played a key role in developing ASAE University including: building a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of the marketplace, creating a framework for programs that build brand position, developing a product mix to attract association executives and business partners at all levels, and identifying a revenue-generating model to sustain the curriculum over time.

“Anne has been instrumental in developing many strategic initiatives for ASAE that has impacted how we deliver knowledge and services for our members. She’s a tremendous leader, mentor, and contributor to our community and profession. We are definitely going to miss Anne, but we can’t help but feel excited for her as she opens a new chapter in her life,” said ASAE President & CEO John H. Graham IV, FASAE, CAE.
