WASHINGTON— ASAE Foundation received a $50,000 grant from The Angerosa Research Foundation and Stratton Media Strategies, LLC. The funds are earmarked for future research projects to explore the issues and trends relating to publishing, communication, and media issues and practices in the association community.

Projects undertaken through this grant will be named “Stratton-Angerosa Research,” designed to create a legacy for Stratton’s dedication to work within the publishing and communications areas of association management. The Angerosa Research Foundation was established in 2003 by Stratton Media Strategies founder Debra Stratton to conduct industry benchmark research to benefit the association publishing and marketing communities, in honor of the late Angela Angerosa, former vice president of research for Stratton.

“With this generous grant from Stratton Media Strategies, we will be able to conduct vital research in the publishing, communications, and media areas that are critical to an association’s value and relevance. These industries have experienced fundamental shifts in their business models. Although there are no clear answers, this research initiative will help us provide insight on how to best address challenges many of our members are facing,” said ASAE Executive Vice President and ASAE Foundation President Susan Robertson, CAE.

Over the years, multiple industry studies have been conducted by the Angerosa Research Foundation that help associations develop the management tools, financial data, and performance benchmarks that result in improved communication effectiveness and enhanced member benefits.

“We are excited to work with the ASAE Foundation to continue the vital work of the Angersoa Research Foundation. We’re extremely proud of our research work and are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Foundation to continue developing and sharing critical data to help associations better prepare for and respond to changing communications and media trends, while also creating innovative approaches to meet members’ information needs,” said Stratton Media Strategies President Debra J. Stratton.

During 2016, the ASAE Foundation research team will establish a volunteer task force, including a representative from Stratton Media Strategies, to help determine the direction and scope of the research.
