The ASAE ReadyMe Leadership Academy is an invitation only event for ReadyMe cohort participants to take a deeper dive into key areas of leadership development through facilitated training, ‘hot topic’ discussions, peer-to-peer activities, meetings with mentors, and more. The agenda focuses on timely leadership topics and diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility education.
Throughout the day and during the post-event reception, participants will meet with ReadyMe Steering Committee members, program mentors, program content subject matter experts, and John Graham Fund donors that supported the ReadyMe program. All cohort participants are welcome to attend. Academy registration and meals/snacks served during the event are included with your ReadyMe program registration.

Program Theme
This year’s Academy theme, Leading Through Uncertainty, focuses on the realities of leadership when clarity is limited, decisions are complex, and the path forward is unclear. Participants will explore how to lead in moments when not everything is known, and outcomes can't be fully predicted. The experience is designed to build confidence, sharpen judgment, and support leaders in navigating the unknown with purpose and resilience.
Program Description
The ReadyMe Leadership Academy is a focused one-day experience designed to accelerate the development of current and emerging association leaders. Through a blend of insightful activities, expert guidance, and peer networking, participants will gain the skills and knowledge to navigate a changing landscape, cultivate inclusive environments, and enhance their leadership impact.

8:30 am - 9:00 am: Welcome and Overview
We'll kick off the Academy by introducing your facilitators and providing an overview of the day's agenda. We'll hear a special welcome from ASAE leadership and our sponsor Visit Baltimore.
9:00 am - 9:45 am: Listening, Leading, and Navigating the Unknown
Stephon Dingle, Anchor and Reporter for CBS News Baltimore, will share his leadership journey from Baltimore intern to anchor, and the lessons he has learned along the way. In a time when clarity is rare and expectations are constantly shifting, the ability to lead through uncertainty has become essential. Drawing from his experience in journalism and leadership, he will explore how listening deeply, staying grounded, and making decisions without all the answers are critical skills for navigating an unpredictable world.
9:45 am - 10:00 am: Networking Break
10:00 am – 10:30 am: Bridges to Our Biographies Introductions – Part 1
Get to know your fellow colleagues beyond just names and titles. Bring a personal artifact that represents your leadership journey and share its significance. Sharing our stories builds bridges of understanding and a foundation for strong leadership.
10:30 am - 12:00 pm: What Would You Do? Leadership Decision-making in Action
In this session, participants will engage in small-group discussions to work through complex leadership scenarios. Each case will present a challenge involving uncertainty, competing priorities, or organizational tension. Groups will explore how they would respond, what factors they would consider, and how they would lead through the situation. This session is designed to deepen leadership judgment and surface different approaches to leading through complexity.

Members of the ReadyMe Leadership Academy Steering Committee will share their experiences leading through uncertainty and change. They will reflect on how leadership expectations have evolved, the values and practices that have kept them grounded, and why continuing to invest in leadership growth across career stages is critical to navigating today’s challenges. Through personal insights and leadership lessons learned, this conversation will offer a candid look at how experienced leaders adapt, support others, and build leadership capacity for the future.
2:30 pm - 2:45 pm: Networking Break
2:45 pm - 4:00 pm: Peer Consultancy: Collaborative Solutions
Discover the power of collective wisdom in this dynamic peer consultancy session. As a leader, you don't have to face challenges alone. In this interactive workshop, you'll have the opportunity to tap into the diverse perspectives and experiences of your fellow participants to explore real-world leadership challenges and generate innovative solutions.
4:00 pm - 4:30 pm: Closing and Appreciation Circles
Take a moment to reflect on the key insights and lessons learned throughout the ReadyMe Leadership Academy. You'll have the opportunity to process your experiences, identify meaningful takeaways, and consider how to apply this knowledge to your leadership journey.
