The CEO Symposium provides a unique opportunity for you and your volunteer leader to maximize the leadership partnership. Explore how you can best work together to effectively carry out your association's mission and enhance future success. The expert faculty from Tecker International, LLC, will help you and your leadership partner come to a common understanding of roles, responsibilities, and relationships in association governance and strategy. Facilitated conversations and interactive exercises will help you confidently and enjoyably lead your organization in the upcoming year.

Adapted for the virtual environment, this edition of the CEO Symposium will address:

  • current and anticipated challenges facing leaders of contemporary associations
  • value of research and strategy in knowledge-based decision making
  • relationships of board and staff in association governance
  • leadership behavior and its impact on change, innovation, and organizational culture
  • building and sustaining trust in a virtual or hybrid work environment

Each day includes two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute break.

      Glenn H. Tecker

      Glenn H. Tecker is chairman and co-CEO of Tecker International. He has more than 35 years of experience assisting associations and corporations in planning for change. Glenn is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost experts on leadership and strategy. He has worked in an executive capacity with businesses, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations and served as a board member for a number of nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Glenn’s particular expertise in the areas of governance, program strategy, organizational design, research analysis, and presentation skills will be critical to the effort.

      Paul D. Meyer

      Paul D. Meyer is president and co‐CEO of Tecker International. Paul has comprehensive experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, facilitating change initiatives, assessing programs and services, consulting with organizations on strategy and implementation, and understanding operational and governance best practices. Paul has worked with more than 300 organizations in a variety of industries and professions. Prior to his work with Tecker International, he worked in senior management positions for several large not‐for‐profit organizations. This experience as a staff member created an understanding and appreciation for the unique and important roles volunteers and staff play in organizational success.

      Donna F. Dunn, CAE

      Donna French Dunn, CAE, has had a long career as an association executive and strategist. She brings her experience, ranging from membership and communications to change management, to her consultation with and support of association leadership. She has served the association management profession on the ASAE Board of Directors and as chair of the ASAE Executive Management Section Council and the ASAE Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Donna is a board member of the New England Society of Association Executives and the Leadership Circle of South Congregational Church. She makes time for long-distance walking, cross-country skiing, and hiking to balance the challenges of association leadership.

      KiKi L. L'Italien

      KiKi is a Senior Consultant with Tecker International, LLC, specializing in research, marketing communications strategy and technology. KiKi is a widely recognized thought leader in the association industry and presides over and hosts the Association Chat online community and podcast. She has operated as CEO of Amplified Growth, a digital strategy firm since 2012, working with trade associations and professional societies, as well as commercial clients such as QVC and Delta Dental. KiKi serves as an annual visiting lecturer for the capstone Masters Technology Management class at Georgetown University and faculty for ASAE’s online Marketing Essentials courses. She was also a contributing author to the books, The Component Relations Handbook (2nd edition, ASAE, 2012) and Social Networking for Nonprofits: Increasing Engagement in a Mobile and Web 2.0 World (ASAE, 2010). Her combined 20 years in association membership and marketing with 10 years as the leader for the online community and podcast, Association Chat, has led KiKi to the creation of a purposeful model for communities and our role in them. She developed a health check for communities, the Tribes and Trust Community Model, based on her experience as a component relations professional (CRP) and community manager. Each part of the model explores the fundamental principles that lead to a strong and sustainable community. KiKi brings high-energy to her projects and a wealth of experience related to the future positioning of associations. She is passionate about bringing people together, speaking to audiences about developing community and trust, so that more people work together to make our world a better place.

      Cancellation, Refund & Substitution Policy

      Conferences: ASAE will fully refund program registrations fees in full with notifications submitted to ASAE Registration via e-mail at [email protected] All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by 10 business days before the first day of the conference. Requests made in writing less than 10 business days prior to the first day of the conference starting will receive a refund of registration fees minus a $150 administrative fee. Refunds cannot be approved for no-shows. Substitutions are gladly accepted at any time. Badge sharing, splitting, and reprints are strictly prohibited.

      Event Cancellation or Postponement
      ASAE reserves exclusive right to modify, postpone/reschedule or cancel programs for any reason, including but not limited to emergency, inclement weather or other 'acts of God'. If there is an event cancellation, every attempt will be made to reschedule, and registration fees will be applied to the rescheduled event date. Any travel, lodging, or incidental expenses incurred related to a cancelled event cannot be refunded under any circumstances. If a cancelled event cannot be rescheduled, ASAE will determine an equitable basis for the refund of a portion or all of the registration fees, after due consideration of circumstances and expenditures.

      Consent to Use of Photographic Images
      Registration and attendance at, or participation in, ASAE meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution of the registrant or attendees' image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities by ASAE and other third parties, including but not limited the venue, the host city and the host CVB.
