Meetings generate a significant amount of spending each year, according to the Event Industry Council's "Economic Significance of Meetings to the U.S. Economy" study.

The amount of direct spending generated by meetings held in the United States in 2016. That’s up 23 percent from 2009, primarily due to increases in the number of meeting participants.
