WASHINGTON– On March 25, ASAE will present Congressman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) and Congressman Mark Pocan (D-WI) with ASAE Sentinel Awards in Washington, DC, for their leadership roles in advocating for the association community in the ongoing discussion of comprehensive tax reform and for defending the need for government attendance at association meetings, respectively.

The Sentinel Awards will be presented during a reception at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill as part of ASAE’s annual Legislative Fly In, with ASAE’s Board of Directors and participants from American Associations Day in attendance.

A senior member on the House Ways and Means Committee, Congressman Tiberi is an advocate for associations as the committee looks to reform the tax code. Congressman Tiberi is currently the Chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures (taxes) and has represented Central Ohio in the House since 2000.

As a former association executive and ASAE member, Congressman Pocan is a champion for federal employee attendance at association meetings. Before entering Congress in January 2013, Congressman Pocan served seven terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
