The Association Coalition for Artificial Intelligence (ACAI) was launched by ASAE in May 2024 to ensure associations have a strong, coordinated voice in shaping responsible AI policy and practice.

ACAI exists to make sure the unique perspectives of associations—and the communities they represent—are reflected in the development and implementation of artificial intelligence policies at both the federal and state levels. The Coalition supports public policies that promote the ethical, responsible and effective use of AI within the association community. .

The Coalition meets quarterly to align on key policy issues, share insights, and identify areas for cross-sector collaboration. A smaller focus group also meets monthly to discuss recent AI developments, review policy updates, and raise timely topics for open discussion. Monthly newsletters are sent to members with highlights of major AI news, upcoming events, and practical resources for association professionals.
