ASAE Launching Comprehensive Executive Compensation Benchmarking Service

June 14, 2023

WASHINGTON— ASAE is launching a premier executive compensation service to help associations more accurately benchmark CEO and senior staff salaries.

ASAE’s groundbreaking custom Executive Compensation Study is specifically tailored for associations and nonprofits and is designed to empower organizations with invaluable insights into executive compensation practices, enabling them to make informed compensation decisions.

Pairing ASAE’s industry-leading classification database of U.S.-based associations and nonprofits with access to millions of data points on finances and compensation, ASAE researchers have created a bias-free, data-driven salary report that thoroughly captures the marketplace and its executive compensation practices.

“ASAE has conducted executive compensation studies for decades, but what elevates this new product is the level of customization it provides,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “Organizations utilizing ASAE’s new Executive Compensation Study will get a complete, detailed view of who their peer organizations are and how executives of those organizations are compensated today, including granular data like base pay, incentive pay trends and contributions toward deferred compensation plans.”

“Benchmarking CEO and executive staff compensation is critical to ensure fair and competitive salary that is aligned with marketplace and peer organizations,” said Mark Graham, ASAE’s vice president of association solutions. “And it’s essential for effective governance, too, ensuring executive pay aligns with the organization's goals, fosters responsible stewardship of resources, mitigates the risk of excessive compensation and reduces executive turnover,” he added.

ASAE’s new Executive Compensation Study is available this month, and ASAE is committed to evolving the new product line based on input from its users and the needs of the broader association community.
