ASAE Installs New Officers and Directors for Fiscal Year 2024 to Begin September 1

WASHINGTON— New officers and directors for the ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards of Directors were officially installed today during ASAE’s 2023 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Atlanta. Terms for these officers and directors will begin on September 1, 2023.  

The ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards were selected by ASAE’s Leadership Committee in July. The Leadership Committee develops a pool of candidates for board service based on several criteria, including how they best characterize ASAE’s strategy, represent their organizations’ membership and enhance ASAE’s commitment to diverse representation, which is inclusive of geography, association size, career level, gender, identity, ethnicity, skill sets and areas of expertise.  

ASAE’s officers for the coming year include Chair Lynda Bouchard Patterson, FASAE, CAE, President and Owner, AMPED Association Management; Chair-Elect/Chair of the ASAE Research Foundation Heidi Brock, President and CEO, American Forest & Paper Association; Secretary-Treasurer Jay Karen, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA); and Immediate Past Chair Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, American Institute of Architects. 

“I am humbled to take on the role of Chair of the Board of Directors of ASAE. And I’m especially honored to be the first chair from the State of Wisconsin and only the third AMC owner to lead this prestigious organization in its100-year history,” Patterson said. “Of the four pillars of our strategic plan, I am most excited about amplifying associations and using our collective voices to provide member value, develop our workforce, and enhance our brand.” 

The following individuals were officially installed as officers and members of the ASAE Board and ASAE Research Foundation Board during the closing general session of the 2023 ASAE Annual Meeting in Atlanta:

Heidi Brock, President and CEO, American Forest & Paper Association -- Chair-Elect of ASAE and Chair of the ASAE Research Foundation Board. 

Jay Karen, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) -- Secretary-Treasurer of the ASAE Board and ASAE Research Foundation Board.  

Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, American Institute of Architects -- Immediate Past Chair of the ASAE Board.  

The following individuals will serve three-year terms as “At-Large” directors on the ASAE Board:
