ASAE Welcomes Meet Minneapolis as New Event Partner

April 27, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C. — ASAE today announced that Meet Minneapolis, the official destination marketing organization for the Minneapolis area, has signed on as a new event partner in ASAE’s Alliance Partnership Program.

The mission of Meet Minneapolis is to positively impact the economic and social prosperity of the Minneapolis community by attracting visitors, meetings and events that directly support jobs and local businesses and generate critical revenues. Meet Minneapolis helped welcome 34.6 million visitors to the region and brought more than 700 conventions, groups and sporting events to Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Convention Center in 2019. Meet Minneapolis has also been an active and engaged partner with ASAE, hosting the ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition most recently in 2004.

“Meet Minneapolis is no stranger to ASAE, but we are proud to welcome them officially to the Alliance Partnership Program family,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “The team at Meet Minneapolis not only has a great destination to promote, but they are also longtime supporters of ASAE and the association community. At ASAE’s 2022 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Nashville this August, Meet Minneapolis, along with Delta Air Lines and the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association, will host the 19th annual invitation-only LGBTQ+ Event. ASAE looks forward to continuing to work collaboratively with Melvin Tennant, CAE, and his experienced team.”

“As longtime supporters of ASAE, this further solidifies our commitment to association professionals and the work of ASAE,” said Meet Minneapolis President and CEO Melvin Tennant, CAE. “For nearly two decades, we have celebrated and showcased our city’s commitment to inclusivity by hosting an LGBTQ+ event, in conjunction with ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition. We look forward to continuing that long tradition, alongside our partners IGLTA and Delta Air Lines, in Nashville, later this year.”
