ASAE Leadership Committee Announces Nominees for ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards of Directors

WASHINGTON— The Leadership Committee of ASAE and the ASAE Research Foundation has selected the following nominees to serve on the ASAE and ASAE Research Foundation Boards of Directors for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY2023), with terms beginning September 1, 2022.

The Leadership Committee develops a pool of candidates for board service based on several criteria, including how they best characterize ASAE’s strategy, represent their organizations’ membership and enhance ASAE’s commitment to diverse representation, which is inclusive of geography, association size, career level, gender, identity, ethnicity, skill sets and areas of expertise.

The committee considered 30 nominations for at-large board seats from highly qualified association leaders. The Leadership Committee is chaired this year by ASAE Immediate Past Chair Stephen J. Caldeira, president and CEO of the Household & Commercial Products Association.

“ASAE is in the midst of an exciting and pivotal stage of evolution under the leadership of Michelle Mason,” Caldeira said. “Recognizing the need for innovative, agile thinking to support ASAE’s growth strategies, the Leadership Committee paid close attention to balance the board with more trade association CEOs and emerging executives in support of the new strategic framework. These nominees will bring a vast array of experience, perspectives and diverse skill sets to bear in support of ASAE’s continued progression.”

The following nominees will serve as officers of ASAE and the ASAE Research Foundation:

Lakisha Ann Woods, CAE, Chief Executive Officer, American Institute of Architects, will become Chair of the ASAE Board.

Lynda J. Patterson, FASAE, CAE, President and Owner, AMPED Association Management, will become Chair-Elect of ASAE and Chair of the ASAE Research Foundation.

Heidi Brock, President and CEO, American Forest & Paper Association, will become Secretary-Treasurer.

Steven C. Anderson, FASAE, CAE, IOM, President and CEO, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, will become Immediate Past Chair of the ASAE Board.

The following nominees will serve three-year terms as “At-Large” directors on the ASAE Board:

Beebe and Elliott are also nominated to serve on the ASAE Research Foundation Board.

In addition, the following nominee has been appointed to join the ASAE Research Foundation Board of Directors for one year by the current ASAE Research Foundation Board Chair, Lakisha Woods:

ASAE Bylaws provide the opportunity for additional nominees to be proposed through a petition process. Should any member be proposed by petition, the petition should contain the signatures of at least 2.5% of the ASAE voting membership and should be received at ASAE Headquarters no later than August 19, 2022, to the attention of Stephen J. Caldeira, Chair of the Leadership Committee.
