ASAE Adds Industry Veterans Mark Graham, Lynn McNutt to Enhance Business Analytics, Career/Workforce Solutions

October 14, 2022

WASHINGTON— Two experienced industry professionals are joining the ASAE staff to bolster the organization’s employment of business analytics and enhance its career and workforce solutions for association executives.

Mark Graham, who for more than two decades served in various roles with CEO Update, including managing editor, editor-in-chief and managing director, is joining ASAE as lead for business analytics. Lynn McNutt, who also served more than 20 years with CEO Update, including most recently as editor-in-chief, is joining ASAE as lead for career and workforce solutions.

A journalist by training, Graham launched, managed and moderated many popular events and programs during his tenure at CEO Update. Graham also launched successful products such as Association Intelligence, an online database of associations; an annual 450-page CEO Salary Guide; and a new, data-driven custom salary report for C-suite executives.

“As the association industry continues to grapple with rapid change and disruption, the use of business analytics to drive future-focused planning is crucial,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “With his background, Mark is ideally suited to help association CEOs and C-suite leaders employ data analysis, statistical models and other quantitative methods to drive decision-making.”

“Since Michelle Mason joined ASAE as president and CEO last year, I have watched ASAE with admiration as the organization quickly sought to find new ways to serve the association community,” Graham said. “I’m excited to continue to serve the association community and be a part of the amazing evolution taking place at ASAE.”

McNutt has devoted her career to providing association CEOs and senior executives with content and community to elevate and advance their professional development and organizational performance. As editor-in-chief of CEO Update, McNutt led publishing and business operations, managed a team that produced an industry-leading publication, job board and financial database; convened peer groups; and hosted the annual Association Leadership Awards as well as a variety of events dedicated to thought leadership and best practices in association management.

“ASAE is intent on creating a more sustainable volunteer structure that maximizes engagement, contributes to operational efficiencies and impacts future growth,” Mason said. “Lynn has the experience and entrepreneurial mindset to manage the evolution of ASAE’s key committees, as well as the ASAE Fellows, and lead ASAE’s Association CareerHQ into the world of workforce development and career pathing.”

“ASAE has long been the professional home for association leaders and an incredible resource for all of us who have devoted our careers to this important work,” McNutt said. “It is an exciting time of groundbreaking change in this space and I’m looking forward to being part of the ASAE team as we work to connect, engage and learn from this powerful, inspiring community.”
