Anderson Bell Lugar Named Co-Chairs for ASAE 2022 Summit Awards Dinner

May 3, 2022

WASHINGTON— ASAE is proud to announce that the co-chairs of the 23rd Annual Summit Awards Dinner are: current ASAE Board Chair Steven C. Anderson, FASAE, CAE, IOM, president and CEO, National Association of Chain Drug Stores; Philip Bell, president, Steel Manufacturers Association; and Katherine Lugar, CEO, American Beverage Association.

The ASAE Summit Awards Dinner is the association community’s premier Washington, D.C. event attended by more than 600 of the industry’s leaders and influencers. A reception and seated dinner are held in the iconic National Building Museum. This year’s dinner will be the first since ASAE rebranded to The Power of Associations in an effort to better showcase the positive impact associations make every day.

“The Summit Awards Dinner is a signature event for ASAE and the association community, celebrating the many ways that associations positively shape and influence society,” Anderson said. “The event also serves as the primary funding vehicle for ASAE’s advocacy on behalf of the association profession. This includes ASAE's recent work to successfully expand the Paycheck Protection Program and to advance legislative relief from the losses and event cancellations faced by associations and other non-profit organizations. It's never been clearer that we need ASAE’s strong voice on Capitol Hill.”

“From the American College of Emergency Physicians providing critical tools for frontline physicians to the Cook County Farm Bureau delivering lifesaving food assistance, last year’s winners showed us what is possible through great determination and passion. I look forward to seeing how the 2022 winners are making an impact,” Bell added.

“Associations are essential to the development of good public policy, the betterment of industry standards, and the advancement of our workforce,” Lugar said. “Support of the Summit Awards Dinner ensures that ASAE can continue to carry the ‘Power of Associations’ message and represent our community with Congress and the administration.”
