I beg to disagree. The current political atmosphere in this country has become so toxic that it is impossible to decipher the truth from slander. Associations should not be taking queue's from politicians on setting strategy. On the contrary, associations have the ability to influence change in this country and we should be striving on behalf of our members, and our country, to insist on more ethical behavior and a culture that succeeds because of its ability to work together and compromise for the common good. Should associations begin to operate more like our government we are doomed to failure. That today's political arena is not unique and Mr. Rove can point to situations in the past is not justification for polarizing and paralyzing a political system and certainly should not be emulated.
