An engaging read, thanks! The concise distinctions between "sales" and "persuasion" and "marketing" can help novices and veterans alike. Underlying the sales message, though, is the marketing message that we won't, can't and--most important--shouldn't sell anything to members that they don't want or need. If we develop the services and products they do want and need, there never will be a need for the "shenanigans" Pink described.
