Very thoughtful and insightful commentary. I greatly appreciate that the author spoke frankly about what she thinks she might have done better in preparation for leaving. Great advice that I plan on taking.

A very thorough and comprehensive article on a subject that usually is the LAST thing a CEO considers. Well done, Ms. Wintz, and thank you!

This is a terrific article! As Leigh describes,, succession plans are extremely valuable to association boards to help them figure out how to handle planned and unplanned departure. The problem Leigh referenced of the board being diluged with executive search proposals could have been addressed in the succession plans by narrowing the list of firms to whom RFPs would be sent to those that are more likely to fit the culture of the organization.
