Tamara, You hit the nail squarely on the head. As I am reading your great article from the October issue of "Associations Now" (and to your point it is already December 8) I was staring at a 2 foot pile of "cool stuff" that I desperately want to read which, by the way, is matched by an equally large twin pile at home. I need to start forcing myself to allocate reading time every day which is so hard in a small staff environment where we are all focused on "doing". Thank you for a terrific article. Ken

I could totally relate to the author, and find myself feeling guilty for taking the time to read and reflect, plot and plan the next moves. If we as Execs don't do that, then to whom does the responsibility fall? However diffcult or strange it must feel at first, this is a very necessary part of making our organizations the very best they can be.

This is exactly what my Executive Board has been saying to me - glad I "took time" to read it!

As I move from comfortable, controlled oversight to mass havoc, this article gives me pause to slow down and re-fuel my near-empty leadership tank.

Wow, terrific article ... in the very best sense of positive irony, this is very, well -- thoughtful!
