ASAE Redesigned TEC22 Delivers Transformative Technology Content Solutions

December 14, 2022

WASHINGTON — More than 540 association and industry professionals participated in ASAE’s 2022 Technology Exploration Conference (TEC22), a completely redesigned omni-channel event that included four days of digital thought leadership (Dec. 5-8) and a high-impact, in-person day of learning and networking on Dec. 12 at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel.

TEC22 was reimagined this year to provide association leaders multiple opportunities to engage and learn about digital transformation through expert insights, hands-on training, practical business solutions and peer-to-peer networking.

“Like many industries and professions, associations experienced a great deal of disruption and upheaval in recent years and are employing digital innovations to not only stay ahead of the competition but create new opportunities for member engagement and community-building that are necessary for the future of our business,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “TEC22 was designed to help association leaders assess their organizations’ current capabilities and discover new technology solutions to create exceptional experiences and make smarter, data-driven business decisions.”

The redesigned TEC22 program attracted a wide audience of 62% association professionals, 15% industry partners, 14% consultants and 9% others. Roughly 70% of association professional registrants had final decision-making authority for their organizations and 48% of registrants were first-time TEC attendees. Registrants stated their primary reason for attending TEC 22 were to “discover business insights and examples”; “build professional relationships”; and “see groundbreaking technology.”

Each of TEC22’s four Digital Days was focused on a different topic impacting ASAE’s technology-driven community: Big Data Revolution on Dec. 5, sponsored by iMIS by ASI; Disruption in Technology on Dec. 6, sponsored by Higher Logic; Modernizing Member Experience on Dec. 7, sponsored by Forj; and Digital Transformation on Dec. 8, sponsored by Impexium.

TEC22 concluded with an in-person day of learning on Dec. 12 that included three keynote presentations from Kate O’Neill on “Tech Humanism: How Data and Technology Shape the Future of Meaningful Human Experiences”; Chunka Mui on “Shaping the Digital Transformation of Your Industry”; and Ted Harrington on “Think Like a Hacker: Secure Your Brand.” The in-person event also included a lunch sponsored by Personify and a networking reception sponsored by DelCor.
