President Trump's AI Action Plan Positions US as the Global Leader on Transformative Technologies

July 23, 2025

WASHINGTON – Associations stand as critical partners in pursuing Action Plan’s goals to upskill American workers for the next generation of high-demand careers.

Today, President Trump released a detailed action plan laying out a national strategy for the United States to achieve economic growth and establish global standards for the deployment and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“President Trump’s Artificial Intelligence Action Plan strategically positions the United States as a global leader in the development and deployment of AI technology,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “ASAE applauds the focus on industry-driven training programs that equip workers with the skills they need to be successful in the workforce of tomorrow. ASAE’s members are eager to support efforts to create these training programs, and we encourage continued collaboration between the federal government and the association community.”

Associations are America’s primary source of post-college education and training. They provide expertise-driven certifications that demonstrate specialized knowledge and experience within a given sector, increase individual earning power, promote marketplace competition, and boost industries and professions across our economy.

As the Administration affirms that AI will complement the work of Americans, not replace it, associations stand ready to help workers navigate this transformation to the high-demand careers of the future.

ASAE leads the Association Coalition for AI, a group of more than 70 association executives from a wide range of sectors. This group of experienced leaders is actively planning around many of the workforce issues raised by the AI Action Plan.

ASAE looks forward to continued collaboration with other stakeholders and the federal government as our nation continues to lead the world in technological innovation.
