ASAE Wraps Up Successful, In-Person 2022 Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference in DC

WASHINGTON—After two years of virtual programming during the COVID pandemic, ASAE proudly hosted more than 750 association professionals and industry partners at its 2022 Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference (MMCC) May 17-18, 2022, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

 

The 2022 MMCC was designed to give association marketing, communications and membership professionals new tools to reach their members in authentic and meaningful ways. The final attendance breakdown included 506 association professionals,145 exhibitors, 74 speakers and 40 others. Additionally, 48 supplier companies participated in the Exhibitor Showcase. The ratio of buyers to sellers at MMCC was 80 percent buyers to 20 percent sellers.

“While ASAE is working to create omni-channel platforms to deliver content to meet our members where they are, it was tremendously exciting to see the association community once again turn out in force for a major ASAE in-person conference,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “MMCC was filled with inspiring ideas, case studies and new solutions to help association professionals take their marcomm and membership strategies to new heights. We want to thank our attendees, partners, exhibitors and speakers for making the 2022 MMCC extremely valuable and productive for everyone involved.”

The two-day program included two keynote sessions, “Empowering Disruptors,” with entrepreneur, CEO Coach and expert media advisor Mike Maddock, and “Distinguishing Your Mission and Vision Through Storytelling,” with Rakia Reynolds, founder of Skai Blue Media, as well as a wide range of learning sessions that focused on three disciplines: member engagement & recruitment; marketing & technology; and communication & outreach. MMCC also included formal networking conversations and an Exhibitor Showcase on both days to help association professionals connect with solution thought leaders and providers invested in their success. New this year within the Exhibitor Showcase was the ASAE Marketplace, where attendees were able to learn how ASAE membership opens the door to ASAE's most in-demand resources such has Marketing, Membership, ABSI Business Solutions Program, Research Foundation, CAE credentialing, Association Data Analytic Insights and more.

During this year’s MMCC, ASAE also celebrated this year’s Gold Circle Award winners, which recognized the creativity, execution and success of outstanding marketing, membership and communications campaigns. ASAE unveiled the 2022 Overall Excellence Award Winner from nearly 200 Gold Circle applications, which went to the National Council of Teachers of English for their 2021 NCTE Annual Convention. ASAE’s Gold Circle Awards are sponsored by rasa.io, an ASAE-endorsed personalized newsletter solution.
