Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP)

The Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) helps individuals from underrepresented segments of the association community advance into the ranks of leadership in the association profession. DELP scholars participate in an accelerated leadership program of education and volunteer service in the association community. The program is sponsored by the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau.

There are up to ten scholarships available in the next DELP class. The program tenure is from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

Goals of the Diversity Executive Leadership Program

  • To encourage more diverse candidates to assume leadership roles in association management.
  • To increase diversity within the field of association management by providing educational and networking opportunities to potential leaders from underrepresented populations.
  • To support scholars in their efforts to reach more senior level association management positions by providing opportunities to increase their connections in and understanding of association management.
  • To match scholars with mentors who are able to provide career guidance and enhance networking opportunities.
  • To demonstrate the long-term benefit of the program to ASAE & The Center, to the association profession, and to the scholars.
