Associations Converge on Capitol Hill for American Associations Day

Tax reform. Government employee conference attendance. The Power of Associations. These were the themes of ASAE's 2014 American Associations Day, during which more than 300 association executives from across the country came together to represent the association community on Capitol Hill.

In March, more than 300 association professionals representing organizations from over 30 states converged on the U.S. Capitol and asked Congress to remove current restrictions on government employee travel to meetings and preserve the current tax status for royalties and sponsorships. ASAE's American Associations Day, an annual legislative fly-in, is an opportunity for association leaders, staff, and volunteers from across the country to meet with their elected officials and staff of elected officials and actively participate in the political process by developing relationships, thanking members for their support, and discussing issues of concern....
