One association professional’s journey from hostess to manager of member service.
Kristin Witters, Manager, Member Services, National Association of College and University Business Officers, Washington, DC
Kristin Witters' career began almost 18 years ago when she worked as a hostess at a 1950s-themed diner. As the current manager of member services for the National Association of College and University Business Officers, she says every job—even one that required her to wear a poodle skirt—has left her with at least one takeaway. Two that have stayed with her: "Preschoolers can teach you a lot about patience and the impact you have on a daily basis" and "A great supervisor can have almost the same impact on you as a great teacher."
