Corporations appear to be expanding efforts to partner with associations on charitable endeavors—one good example being the National Association of Hispanic Nurses' partnership with Huggies.
Executive Director and CEO Celia Trigo Besore, CAE, says NAHN was approached by Huggies to participate in Every Little Bottom, a diaper collection drive for impoverished parents.
The request resonated with members after they learned of a recent study that found that one out of three mothers (of which 20 percent were Hispanic) cannot afford diapers.
NAHN chapter drives and online donations through partner Amazon.com led to more than 10,500 diapers donated during the fall of 2010.
