Angela Flanigan is a seasoned continuing medical education and association management professional with more than 11 years of progressive experience. Currently, Angela serves as the director of education and is responsible for the developing and producing continuing medical education activities for the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, where she also serves as the staff liaison to the Education and Research Committee. She is the primary educational grant writer for the organization and is responsible for program budgets in excess of $600,000. Additionally, Angela is the primary event planner for continuing education conferences serving as the main point of contact for event facility staff, vendors, and program faculty. Her duties also include coordinating all online activities, and the development and dissemination of educational print materials.

Angela is a member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Profession (ACEHP) and ASAE. As an avid proponent of adult learning principles and health promotions, she presented abstracts during the ACEHP’s national conferences in 2011 and 2013. In 2009 she received the Community Leaders Award for Vaccination Health Promotion from Sanofi Pasteur.

Previously, Angela served as the manager of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development for the Association of Black Cardiologists, where she directed, managed and oversaw daily operations and process implementation for the Center’ regional and national conferences. She was instrumental in the development of program strategies and building vendor relations.

Angela is an alumna of Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.
