The framework for professional development in association management is a set of nine knowledge domains defined through ASAE’s psychometrically valid job task analysis, completed in 2014. For each knowledge domain, the job task analysis identified competencies at three levels of application: strategic, applied, and foundational [PDFs].
The three job task outlines that resulted from the analysis reflect, at a high level, the body of knowledge in association management. As such, they may be used for a range of purposes, including strengthening professional knowledge and practice, supporting the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, and guiding educational programming and other content development.
ASAE makes the job task analysis outlines widely available for the general benefit of the association field through a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license.
