Tammy Dillard-Steels is the regional director of regional services at the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She is the staff liaison to four board of governors, 18 regents, and hundreds of chapter leaders to improve chapter performance on key indicators through fact-based process improvement, work standardization, and performance recognition.
Before joining ACHE, Tammy served as the director of constituents services for the Academy of General Dentistry and as the executive director of the Urban Sustainability Authority, a nonprofit organization where she provided fundraising, day-to-day operations, and strategic direction. She has held leadership positions at Commonwealth Edison, University of Chicago Hospitals and the National Safety Council.
Tammy is a strategic executive with over 25 years of experience in both the nonprofit and private sector with a solid record to outline, develop, and implement measurable performance improvements to advance organizational mission. She is a professional speaker, mentor, and active member in her community.
She is a recipient of the coveted 2012 Workforce Diversity Scholarship from the Association Forum of Chicagoland (Association Forum), and in 2007, she became a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Leadership Fellow.
Tammy received her B.S. from Illinois State University, is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago - School of Public Health, where she received a M.P.H. and completed her M.B.A. in marketing and nonprofit management from Keller Graduate School of Management.
She is a member of ASAE, Association Forum of Chicagoland, and Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Incorporated. Tammy volunteers with ASAE's Professional Development Section Council – Emerging Practices Taskforce, Association Forum's Professional Practices Committee, the Physical and Mental Health Committee of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Incorporated, the American Diabetes Association, Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly, and is on the Finance Committee for St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
