Stephanie Jones is senior director of conferences and events management for the Water Environment Federation (WEF). She has been involved in the meetings industry for more than 25 years. Her expertise includes strategic planning, risk management, budgeting, experiential design, contract negotiations, registration, and housing.
Stephanie is responsible for the strategic planning and direction of all WEF seminars, workshops, and conferences, including WEFTEC, the association’s annual conference and exhibition. WEFTEC is one of the largest tradeshows in the wastewater industry and consistently appears on Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Honoree list. WEFTEC was also honored as one of the 50 fastest-growing shows by total attendance in 2014 and 2015.
Throughout her tenure with WEF, Stephanie has built a reputation for championing technology and innovation in the meetings industry. Under her leadership, WEF was an early adopter of event mobile apps, automated speaker and abstract management, and paperless event specs. She also serves on WEF’s risk management team.
Embracing the core values of integrity, innovation, and customer service, Stephanie is a winner of the Susan J. O’Neill Leadership Award. This award is presented to individuals who inspire leadership, dedication, and commitment to exemplary customer service and achievement of the WEF vision.
Stephanie is a member of ASAE, the Professional Convention Management Association, and the International Association of Exhibitions and Events. She received her CMP designation in 2010. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in public administration.
