Stacie East serves as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Entomological Society of America (ESA) and is a member of the senior leadership team. Stacie has primary responsibility for providing leadership and administrative oversight for developing and maintaining a range of successful practices that value and prioritize diversity, equity and inclusiveness. In addition, she manages Public Health Entomology for All, a workforce development initiative. Prior to joining ESA, Stacie served as Associate Director of Diversity and Inclusion and an Adjunct Professor for California Western School of Law; Director of the Diversity Fellowship Program for the San Diego County Bar Association; and a criminal and professional license defense attorney. Stacie has extensive volunteer association experience having served on the Boards of Directors Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, Lawyers Club of San Diego, and San Diego County Bar Association. Presently, she sits on the Board of Directors for Accessity, a Community Development Financial Institution organization that provides small business loans to entrepreneurs with historically less access to capital and business support. Stacie received her J.D. from Yale Law School and B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. She is licensed to practice law in California.
