Ally Brown is the Director of Training at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), working to engage imaging informatics professionals in training across all image-centric specialties. She has been working in the medical association space since 2014 in all aspects of education and instructional design. Connecting the dots between education and practice gaps by leveraging technology, learning analytics, and pedagogy is a passion and skill that Ally brings to her work in pursuit of broadening and enriching patient care.

Prior to joining SIIM, Ally served as the Associate Director of Online Learning at the American Psychiatric Association where she oversaw learning operations and strategy within the APA’s Division of Education. In this role, she administered learning analysis, integrating a data-driven approach to help develop and promote diverse educational opportunities among psychiatrists and other mental health clinicians.

Ally has served on the 2022 board of directors at the Metro DC Chapter of the Association for Talent Development as the Director of Evaluation and Measurement. In this role, she supported the development of evaluation and analytics strategies to support members of the chapter and beyond. Previously, Ally worked at the American Academy of Physician Assistants as the program administrator for the organization’s continuing medical education center, and at the American Society of Clinical Oncology as a program coordinator for digital learning operations.

A passionate instructional designer, Ally earned her Bachelor’s in Adult Education and a Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology from Bellevue University. She volunteers her time as a graphic/visual designer and educational consultant for community-based non-profit organizations.
