Nominees for ASAE and ASAE Foundation Board of Directors Announced by Leadership Committee

WASHINGTON— The Leadership Committee of ASAE and the ASAE Foundation has selected the following nominees to serve on the ASAE and the ASAE Foundation Boards of Directors for Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20), which begins September 1, 2019.

The Leadership Committee develops a pool of candidates for board service that best exemplifies ASAE’s membership profile and is representative of the organization’s diversity—including geography, size, gender, ethnicity, skill sets, and areas of experience. This year’s committee is chaired by Immediate Past Chair of ASAE Matt Shay, CAE President and CEO at the National Retail Federation.

“The ASAE nominating committee selected a group of association leaders from diverse backgrounds who are proven champions of the association community dedicated to creating dialogue and action on issues that impact the profession. We’re thankful for their commitment to ASAE and the association community ,” said ASAE Chair Sal Martino, FASAE, CAE.

The list of nominees are:

Patricia V. Blake, FASAE, CAE, CEO, Heart Rhythm Society, Washington, DC will become Chair of the ASAE Board.

Stephen J. Caldeira, President and CEO, Household & Commercial Products Association, Washington, DC will become Chair-Elect and Chair of the ASAE Foundation Board.

Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE, President and CEO, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Arlington, VA will be the new Secretary-Treasurer.

The committee nominated the following individuals for the FY20 Boards. All “At Large” Directors are ASAE Board members and two of the four will also serve on the ASAE Foundation Board.

The new board will be officially installed and join the remaining board members at the 2019 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, August 10-13, in Columbus.

ASAE Bylaws provide the opportunity for additional nominees to be proposed through a petition process. Should any member be proposed by petition, the petition should contain the signatures of at least 2.5% of the ASAE voting membership (1160) and should be received at ASAE Headquarters no later than July 3, 2019, to the attention of Matthew R. Shay, CAE, Chair of the Leadership Committee.
