ASAE Announces Mac McAnally Will Sing at Power of A-Summit Awards Dinner
WASHINGTON—ASAE names Mac McAnally, an award-winning songwriter, instrumentalist, producer, and artist, as the musical entertainment at this year’s Power of A – Summit Awards Dinner on Wednesday, October 3 at the National Building Museum.
McAnally has been named CMA Musician of the Year for an unprecedented nine years, and he was elected into the Nashville Songwriters Halls of Fame, the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
He has written several No. 1 singles for Kenny Chesney, Alabama, Sawyer Brown and Shenandoah. Southbound is his 16th album, which features songs arranged for a symphony orchestra and recorded with the FestivalSouth orchestra. For this album, McAnally is giving back to his Mississippi community. All artist and producer portions of Southbound are being donated to the music program at the University of Southern Mississippi and Extra Table, which brings food to the hungry in Mississippi.
“We are excited to hear Mac McAnally at The Summit Dinner this year. It’s a great opportunity for the community to honor six organizations who are making a difference in their communities. Nashville CVC, who is a committed supporter and sponsor, always brings fantastic talent,” said ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV, FASAE, CAE.
Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp (Nashville CVC) and Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center contribute the entertainment for the Summit Awards Dinner and are longtime supporters of the association community.
“It is a true pleasure to bring Mac McAnally to this year’s Summit Awards. A 9-time CMA Musician of the Year, as well as an accomplished singer/songwriter, and perpetual member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band - Mac will be another hit for ASAE,” said Nashville CVC President Butch Spyridon.
ASAE will have over 1,000 association and nonprofit professionals and supporters of the association sector at this year’s Power of A-Summit Awards Dinner. The event was created to recognize the excellent work in the association community to improve the quality of life through exemplary community-based programs. The dinner also supports the Power of A Fund, which increases awareness about the wealth of knowledge and resources in the association community with policymakers and other audiences.
The six organizations being honored for their work are: The Actuarial Foundation; American Counseling Association; American Diabetes Association, JDRF, Insulin for Life, Endocrine Society, T1D Exchange, Research!America, American Association of Diabetes Educators, and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists; American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; Institute of Food Technologists (IFT); and NRF Foundation.
