WASHINGTON—After 18 years with ASAE, Dixie Arthur, President, ASAE Business Services, Inc. (ABSI) and Executive Vice President and COO, ASAE Insurance Company, will retire on August 31. She will serve in an advisory capacity through December 31.
“Dixie‘s leadership and business acumen created and sustained ABSI’s growth and success. Her work serves as a great model for the association community,” said ASAE President & CEO John H. Graham, IV, FASAE, CAE. “She has crafted a distinguished and influential career as evidenced by her many achievements. We will miss her!”
Arthur has a comprehensive career in managing association for-profit subsidiaries. She created the business model for managing ASAE Business Services, Inc., which includes the ASAE Insurance Source, the ASAE Insurance Company, the ASAE Retirement Trust, the ASAE-Endorsed Business Solutions Program, and Association CareerHQ. In this role, she implemented strategies that built relationships across all lines of business including: insurance, financial services, technology, career services, and other business-related products that added value to associations nationwide.
“Working for ASAE has been a wonderful experience, and I will miss everyone. ASAE provided me the opportunity to enhance their insurance offerings, financial programs, and develop Association CareerHQ,” said Arthur. “Throughout my career, I wanted to give associations the tools to succeed. Now, I’m looking forward to the next stage of retiring and moving to Arizona in September.”
She has an extensive background in the insurance and financial services industries in national and international markets, specializing in association programs.
Before coming to ASAE Business Services in 1999, she served 10 years as president of AHA Insurance Resource Inc., a multimillion-dollar insurance agency and broker/dealer subsidiary of the American Hospital Association. Previous experience includes: serving as vice president of Johnson & Higgins, an insurance brokerage company where she participated in its national health care practice; and as marketing vice president of Health Providers Insurance Co., the captive medical malpractice reinsurance company of the American Hospital Association.
Arthur has served on several boards including: the National Alzheimer’s Association, the Sherwood Conservatory of Music, Captive Insurance Companies Association, the McKinley Advisors, Inc. Advisory Board, Willamette University Atkinson Graduate School of Management Advisory Board, Business and Professional Women's Foundation, Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia, and the ASAE Services, Inc., prior to joining ASAE.
