WASHINGTON— Four leaders in the association community have been named to ASAE's 2013 Class of Fellows. The Fellows program acknowledges individual accomplishments and contributions to ASAE and the association sector, and it is a call to service for the profession.

“It’s important that we continue to identify colleagues who can serve as leaders, authors, mentors and speakers for our community, so we can increase awareness about the impact associations have on society,” said Gregg Balko, executive director, Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering, and chair of ASAE’s Fellows Selection Committee. “The ASAE Fellows program is an honorary recognition bestowed upon less than one percent of ASAE’s membership representing the best of the association community. This year’s class is comprised of entrusted leaders, and I’m pleased to welcome them to the Fellows community.”

The Class of 2013 includes:

Patricia A. Blake, CAE
CEO
American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy

Danielle Foisy, CASE
Director, Northeast MC & IT Sales Development
Canadian Tourism Commission

Matthew Gertzog, CAE
Deputy Executive Director
American Society of Hematology

Christie A. Tarantino, CAE
President & CEO
Association Forum of Chicagoland

The 2013 Fellows join 239 association industry professionals to receive this designation since the program's inception in 1986. Serving as role models and ambassadors for the association community, Fellows seek out opportunities to serve on boards and committees, and by participating as speakers, authors, reviewers, and mentors.

The Fellows selection process includes endorsement by a peer; an in-depth application describing the individual's innovation, leadership, and commitment to the profession; an interview with a member of the selection committee; and selection from among a group of highly-qualified candidates.
