WASHINGTON, DC—During the 2013 ASAE Marketing, Membership & Communications Conference (MMCC) yesterday, ASAE announced that the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers won the annual 2013 Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence for its Technology Tower Trivia. The winner was selected by the Gold Circle Award Committee from among the 2013 Gold Circle Award winners as the most outstanding example of excellence in association marketing, membership, and communication programs.

“Congratulations to the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers as this year’s winner of the Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence,” said ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE. “They developed a new, interactive gamification tool that increased awareness about the technical content available for its members in an innovative way.”

The 2013 Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence recipient was presented the award by Lauren Janik, director, marketing, TMA Resources and chair of the Gold Circle Awards Committee. Funding for the 2013 Gold Circle Awards was made possible with funding from be McMurry/TMG.

“We are delighted to receive this award from ASAE,” said Heather Gosciniak, Director, Event Marketing & Business Development at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. “The Technology Tower Trivia provided a unique way for our members to learn more about the content readily available, and we also repurposed it to train and certify content. After introducing this concept at our annual meeting, we were able to increase awareness by 10 percent.”

“Selecting one entry for the Gold Circle Award for Overall Excellence was a difficult task this year because all of the winners exemplified successful communications,” said Lauren Janik, director, marketing, TMA Resources and chair of the Gold Circle Awards Committee. “Congratulations to the Society of Cable Telecommunications on behalf of the Gold Circle Committee! The project was impressive, and it will serve as a resource for the association community.”
