WASHINGTON — ASAE is pleased to announce that Karl Ely, CAE, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Publisher, effective immediately.

Ely’s leadership of the Advertising and Partnership teams has been instrumental in ASAE’s success, and the continued growth and expansion of both programs underscore his contribution to the overall strength of the ASAE. In addition to his proven leadership in the magazine arena, he has broadened the marketing reach for industry partners by retooling our partnership initiatives, creating unique platforms that take each partnership to new levels of achievement and ROI.

As a member of ASAE’s Executive Team, Ely represents the industry partner community and ensures that their opinions are considered in decisions affecting association events and operations. He has worked with senior publishing staff to help lead the redesign and rebranding of ASAE’s magazine, and in retaining its status as one of the most valued benefits of membership in ASAE.

“Karl brings outstanding leadership to the advertising and partnership teams, as well as solid contributions to the strategic direction of ASAE,” said ASAE President & CEO John Graham IV, CAE. “I am confident that Karl and his team will continue to create effective ways to chart the course for ASAE’s publishing and partnership pathways in an ever-changing media and marketing environment.”

“ASAE has assembled a talented team, and it’s inspiring to work with such an engaged staff – one that is always striving to improve the industry partner experience,” said Ely. “ASAE’s role in what may appear as a more complicated publishing and marketing environment is really an opportunity for us to help industry partners be more selective of the media channels and in finding what works best for them.”

Ely is a communications graduate of Towson University and earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) in 2000. He is a member of Destination Marketing Association International and Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. He serves as ASAE’s senior staff liaison to the Industry Partner Alliance Committee.
