WASHINGTON — ASAE has selected 12 scholars for the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP), class of 2012-2014. DELP offers individuals from underrepresented segments of the association profession access to opportunities to advance into the ranks of leadership in association management by providing networking opportunities, educational programs, and career guidance.

“Congratulations to the 2012-2014 Diversity Executive Leadership Program scholars,” said ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE. “One of the areas ASAE focuses on is increasing diverse talent within leadership ranks of the association profession. This program helps build leadership skills, while also raising the visibility of talented individuals within our community.”

The DELP scholarship is a two-year program that aims to prepare the participants for executive and board leadership roles and to provide a more robust learning experience. This year, 12 scholarships have been awarded to candidates from across the country.

“Because of Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau and Larry Alexander, president and CEO, continued support of the DELP program, we are able to fulfill our commitment to diversity and inclusion and help build a pipeline of future association executive leaders,” added Graham. DELP is exclusively sponsored by the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau.
