2012 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition Announces Evening Entertainment for Opening, The Classic, Closing Night Celebrations

WASHINGTON — In three weeks, more than 5,000 nonprofit and association professionals are gathering in Dallas for the 2012 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition on August 11-14, and attendees will enjoy music from Big & Rich, Randy Travis, Michael Cavanaugh, KC & The Sunshine Band, Vanilla Ice and more.

WASHINGTON — In three weeks, more than 5,000 nonprofit and association professionals are gathering in Dallas for the 2012 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition on August 11-14, and attendees will enjoy music from Big & Rich, Randy Travis, Michael Cavanaugh, KC & The Sunshine Band, Vanilla Ice and more.

The Opening Night Celebration will take place at the Cowboys Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys and Super Bowl XLV, on Saturday, August 11. Entertainment will include former Dallas Cowboys stars and other professional athletes, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and a performance by Grammy Award-winning duo Big & Rich. The entire stadium will showcase the best of the North Texas region with entertainment and tours on every level. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team’s jersey.

On Monday, August 13, the ASAE Foundation’s The Classic event will be at the unique, multi-venue AT&T Performing Arts Center, which is the nation’s largest urban arts district. For The Classic VIP Reception, attendees will experience a three hour, exclusive event at the Meyerson Symphony Center, 5:30-8:30 p.m., for the ticket price of $225. This VIP experience will deliver a distinctive, intimate supper club atmosphere featuring food from 12 top local chefs, fashion shows from Neiman Marcus and the Galleria, and more. The Classic event tickets are $125, 7:00-10:00 p.m., at the Winspear Opera House. Country music legend Randy Travis, Broadway's Michael Cavanaugh, and Bob Anderson will provide musical entertainment and catering will be by Wolfgang Puck. All ticket sales directly support the important work of the ASAE Foundation.

The Closing Night Celebration on Tuesday, August 14 will be at the Fair Park, home of the Texas State Fair and was recently named a “Top 10 Classic American Experience” by CNN.com. Each of the 13 entertainment districts will be reconstructed inside Fair Park’s Centennial Hall. Participants will experience the flavors of Deep Ellum, Victory Park, Uptown, and more, with musical performances from KC & The Sunshine Band, Vanilla Ice, and Professor D. The evening will conclude at the Esplanade Fountains where a video will be brought to life with 272 water jets that spray 100 feet into the air by music. The show is designed by the same company who created the Bellagio’s fountains in Las Vegas.
