WASHINGTONASAE has launched the call for candidates for the 2012-2014 class of the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP).

WASHINGTON — ASAE has launched the call for candidates for the 2012-2014 class of the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP).

Sponsored by the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau, DELP helps a diverse group of professionals in the association community grow into the ranks of leadership. DELP scholars participate in an accelerated leadership program of education and volunteer service in the association community.

Candidates who can demonstrate exemplary leadership skills and a commitment to advancing the association community, have at least three years of association management experience or at least one year of experience as an association CEO (as of the date of their application), and are members of a racial/ethnic minority group, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender or have a disability, are encouraged to apply.

“DELP provides a great opportunity for talented association professionals to access new networks, enhance their leadership skills, and further their contributions to the field of association management,” said ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE. “We continue to receive wonderful support from Detroit CVB and the association community because they see the value of developing executive talent as we become a more diverse, global society.”

During this two-year program, DELP scholars receive membership in ASAE; registration to ASAE’s Annual Meeting & Exposition and two other ASAE education programs selected by the DELP scholar, including travel and lodging; waiver of the CAE examination fee; and access to industry leaders who could serve as mentors.

Applications and supporting documents must be received at ASAE by March 16, 2012. For more information and to see the list of previous DELP scholarship recipients, visit < a href="/delp">
