WASHINGTON — AASAE is pleased to announce that Sharon Moss, PhD, CAE, has joined the organization as Chief Research Officer for the ASAE Foundation. In this position, Moss will lead all industry research efforts that will help elevate the profession of association management and issues that have implications for associations.
WASHINGTON — ASAE is pleased to announce that Sharon Moss, PhD, CAE, has joined the organization as Chief Research Officer for the ASAE Foundation. In this position, Moss will lead all industry research efforts that will help elevate the profession of association management and issues that have implications for associations.
Moss comes to ASAE from the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she held the position of Health Science Specialist – Research Integrity and Assurance Office of Research Oversight. Prior to that, Moss was the Director of Scientific Programs and Research Development with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, which she held from 1997-2009.
“Sharon brings a wealth of experience in research, advocacy, and leadership to ASAE, which will be a great asset in helping us continue to build upon the rigor and reputation our research has gained over the past couple of years,” said Susan Robertson, CAE, president of the ASAE Foundation and executive vice president of ASAE. "She has been an active member and volunteer with ASAE and will help us continue to move our research agenda forward.”

Moss is a graduate of South Carolina State University where she earned a degree in biology. She earned a Master’s of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience/Communication Disorders from the University of Florida. Moss is a Certified Research Administrator, and she belongs to a number of professional associations including Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research, Society of Research Administrators, and American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is an ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) scholar and has also served on the Joint Leadership Committee (2008-2010) and Research Committee (2007-2010).
