ASAE and The Center Boards Approve New Governance Structure

Following a thorough review process to ensure the most effective governance structure, the ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership Boards of Directors have accepted the recommendations of the Joint Governance Task Force at the Joint Board retreat in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, November 14.

ASAE & The Center Staff Volunteer on Annual Day of Service

Nearly 60 ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership staff members have recently participated in the annual ASAE & The Center Staff Day of Service, October 30. Staff chose to participate in one of the following four projects: food preparation for either Food & Friends in Washington, DC or Manna Food Center in Rockville, MD; park cleanup at the Marvin Gaye Park in Washington, DC; or book sorting at the Strong John Thompson Elementary school in downtown Washington.

ASAE & The Center Select Leadership Academy Students Class of 2010

ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership have recently selected students for the Leadership Academy, a new program that focuses on preparing young professionals for executive positions in the association and nonprofit industry. The class consists of 25 young professionals selected from a broad pool of applicants representing local, regional and national organizations.

Technology Conference Provides Ideas, Tools and Resources for Associations and Nonprofits

ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership's Association Technology Conference and Exposition, the only technology event focused on associations and nonprofit organizations, is back at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, January 27-28, 2009. The premier two-day event will provide ideas, tools and resources for senior-level association and nonprofit executives and connect them with chief technology officers, IT specialists and business partners.

Summit Attendees Focus on “Sustainable Value” To Continue Building Social Responsibility Movement

Attendees of the online social responsibility summit convened by ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership, October 14-16, heard stories about how professional, trade and cause-related organizations are creating “sustainable value” by using strategic social responsibility to drive their businesses and address critical world problems.
