Component relations professionals are always stressing the importance of good relationships between a national organization and its components, but staying connected can be a challenge when the parent organization is large. At the American Society of Civil Engineers, a society with more than 140,000 members, 88 sections, and 154 branches, staff focus on three key factors to ensure none of the components fall through the cracks: resources, communication, and recognition.
