Program Description

Pre-Conference: 4 March, 2009
If going international is new to you or your organization, utilize the Association International Conference Pre-Con on 4 March, 2009 to develop your road map and plot your first steps towards globalization. Take advantage of this unique opportunity that combines rich facilitated discussion with an opportunity to grill the experts. Ask your burning questions in a safe and supportive environment, glean ideas and considerations from your colleagues, and learn step by step from a panel of experienced international practitioners as you consider topics such as strategy, risk assessment, products and services, financial considerations, building support, and more. Walk away with a better sense of what you need to do, what roadblocks you may encounter, and how to successfully overcome them.

Conference: 5-6 March, 2009
As you and your organization chart your course towards international success, join your colleagues at the 2009 Association International Conference to explore the challenges and considerations of going global and what you need in order to succeed. Experience two days of in-depth education that address the various core elements of operating successfully on a global scale. Interact with your peers and with teams of seasoned panelists who will bring their knowledge to life. This conference will provide you with the questions to ask, considerations to ponder, resources to research the answers and practical tools, advice and scenarios from folks who have experienced it all.

This conference is designed for decision-makers of non-profit organizations, including CEOs, COOs, CFOs and members of the board, as well as senior level staff interested in leading the charge into international growth or responsible for continue forward movement in the global playing field.

We're Paper-less in 2009!
In an effort to increase the quality and timeliness of the legal resources provided through this symposium, the Association International Conference will be "paper-less" in 2009. We will replace most paper handouts with electronic materials that will be accessible online both before and after the program. USB flash drives will be provided onsite.

Cancellation Policy: Attendance cancellations must be received within three business days before the program begins. A $75 cancellation fee will apply. There are no refunds for cancellations received less than three business days before a program. No-shows will not be refunded.

Metro Directions:
The Federal Triangle metro stop (blue and orange lines) is connected to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center by a covered passageway. The Center will be immediately on your right as you enter. In addition, the Metro Center (blue, orange and red lines) and Smithsonian (blue and orange lines) are within easy walking distance. Metro stations open at 5:00 a.m. on weekdays.

Accommodations:
There is not a contracted room block for this program. However, there are several hotels in the area, some of which offer a special rate for ASAE and The Center for Association Leadership members.
