Cancellation PolicyWhat is the cancellation policy? Attendance cancellations must be received within five business days before a program begins. A $75 cancellation fee will apply. There are no refunds for cancellations received less than five days before a program. No-shows will not be refunded. The ASAE University Vignette product is a one-time purchase. Following your purchase you will be given immediate access to the Vignette. Should you experience any down time due to technical difficulties during your purchase period or should you be dissatisfied for any reason with the Vignette, please contact our Member Service Center immediately so we can assess the situation and determine the best course of action.
Facilitated Virtual Course InformationWhat is a facilitated virtual course and how does it work? A facilitated virtual course functions with the aid of faculty and a course administrator, who are available throughout the duration of the course to lead, guide, and instruct. Each module consists of a focused topic of discussion (modules) and an assignment; these assignments may include audio/video clips, role playing or discussions, along with Web-related research.. Each module’s content is discussed amongst faculty and course participants within a specifically-designed discussion area. By the end of the course, participants will have discussed the content in every module and completed the required assignments. As a participant, you will also be able to access your course twenty-four hours, seven days a week.. The recommended weekly schedule begins on a Monday and ends on the following Sunday. In addition, participants will receive the necessary resources to complete the course. Two-week Facilitated Virtual Course A course is divided into modules followed by an evaluation. Participants will interact with each other and the online course syllabus. In addition, participants will:
- Receive a customizable manual with job-related applicable content.
- Create a personalized guide specific to your organization.
- Access the course and its content for a total of four weeks.
- Receive a course participant kit of publications (electronically or text-based).
- Develop a measurable goal.
- Chat live with faculty and fellow course participants.
- Access the course and its content for a total of nine weeks.
All U.S. based orders are automatically shipped at point of registration from our U.S. based distribution center via United Parcel Service (UPS). Special shipping requests and related costs become the responsibility of the registrant and must be managed with our Member Service Center prior to registration. Participants that register for an online course must do so a minimum of 10 business days prior to the start of the course in order to guarantee on-time delivery of shipped course materials.Non U.S. Registrations
Although ASAE makes every attempt to minimize costs and reduce handling concerns, shipping deliveries, Customs and/or import duties are the responsibility of the registrant. Non U.S. residents should confirm shipping times and your Customs processing fees prior to registration and should allow a minimum of thirty (30) days to receive shipped materials. ASAE reserves the right to provide electronic copies of publications in lieu of a text-based participant kit. Non delivered participant kits due to shipping, handling or Customs concerns are the responsibility of the registrant.Is there a specific time I need to log into the course?
No, this is the beauty of a self-paced course! Although there is an official start date and end date, participants and faculty regularly engage each other on their own time while the course is in session.What if I am not able to participate during a particular week?
A recommended schedule is provided to the course participants at the start of the course. We recommend that participants complete assignments within its corresponding module. However, we also understand participants lead very busy lives and when individuals are aware that they will not be able to engage during a particular time we encourage the participants to either work ahead or catch up as necessary.If these courses are self-study why do you have a start and end date?
Our courses are designed similarly as a college course in that they have a beginning and an end and although designed in a self-study format, we believe the online learning experience is most valuable when participants are guided by faculty. By adding a start/end date we ensure the highest level of engagement. We also recognize that for some of our busy participants a start and end date minimizes the temptation to put off today what can get done tomorrow.If I live outside of the United States will I be able to participate in facilitated virtual course?
Yes. This is an asynchronous course which means participants are able to access the course at any time and in any location throughout the world; all that is required is an Internet connection and an understanding of the English language. Participants are not expected to be online at any specific time to engage with other peers within the course. The live online discussions are the only synchronous (live) component of the course and attendance is not required for completion of the course. Course content and reading materials are delivered in the English language.What are the minimum course completion requirements?
Each course has a start and end date. All assignments must be completed on or before the close of business of the last date of the course to receive completion credit. Minimum course requirements include, but may not be limited to
- Answer a minimum of two discussion questions per module
- Completion of required reading assignments
- Completion of learning assignments
- Completion of the online course evaluation
Participants can expect to receive one-on-one access to our experienced faculty, a course administrator, discussions and best practices. Registrants will also receive the necessary resources to complete the course; this may also include a participant kit. Please note that each registration allows only one individual to access the course. If more than one individual from an organization would like to participate in a course, a separate registration will need to be completed for each.What equipment do I need to participate? A computer and a live Internet connection are required to participate in a course. We recommend a high-speed Internet connection, although a dial-up connection will suffice. We also recommend Internet Explorer as the primary web browser. Do I need to download a plug-in or any special equipment to participate? No. We use an online collaborative tool that does not require the use of special software or plug-ins. However, you will be required to disengage pop up blockers to access the course and its materials.
