ASAE Announces 2010 Gold Circle Award Winners for Excellence in Association Communications
July 22, 2010
WASHINGTON—The Communication Section Council, one of ASAE’s volunteer groups, has recently selected the much anticipated 2010 Gold Circle Award winners. The annual competition honors associations and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate excellence in communication across several categories, including magazines, newsletters, websites, blogs, podcasts, media relations campaigns and innovative communications. Sponsored by TMG Custom Media, this year the competition received nearly 250 entries.
“Winners of the Gold Circle Award competition have taken their projects to the next level, integrating the fundamentals of effective communications with elements of creativity, design, technology and innovation as well as metrics to measure effectiveness of their strategies,” said Cecilia Sepp, chair of the Communication Section Council.
“In this year’s competition, the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation won Gold Circle Awards in four different categories and an Honorable Mention in another,” said Richard A. Belle, chair of the Gold Circle Award Committee and member of the ASAE Communication Section Council. “Never before in our competition’s history have four awards and one Honorable Mention been won by a single organization in the same year. We applaud them for their outstanding communications program.”
The annual competition presents a special honor, the Council’s Choice Award, chosen by the Communication Section Council from among the 2010 Gold Circle Award recipients. Inaugurated in 2009, the Council’s Choice Award is bestowed upon the one Gold Circle Award winner that best exemplifies overall effectiveness and excellence.
The Council’s Choice Award recipient will be announced at the annual Gold Circle Award Ceremony, held Sunday, August 22nd, 5 p.m. – 5:45 p.m., at the JW Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles.
“On behalf of TMG, I’d like to congratulate this year’s Gold Circle Award winners,” said Jane Ottenberg, president of TMG Custom Media. “We are proud to continue our support to recognize exceptional association communications, and applaud this year’s winners for sharing our commitment.”
As in prior years, the Gold Circle Award Committee has also unveiled its latest edition of the “Effective Communications Practices Guide,” a resource for association and nonprofit professionals in designing effective communications programs. An electronic copy of the Guide is available online, at www.asaecenter.org/goldcircle.
