ASAE Announces 99 Professionals Earn Prominent CAE Credential

WASHINGTON — Ninety-nine association executives recently earned their Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the CAE Commission of ASAE, joining 3,900 industry leaders worldwide.

The Winter 2012 class of CAEs successfully completed the CAE examination administered nationwide on December 2, 2011, and will be honored along with the Summer 2012 class of CAEs during the 2012 ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition in Dallas, August 11-14. A listing by state of the Winter 2012 class of CAEs can be found at the end of the release.

“Congratulations to all the new CAEs who have illustrated a high-level knowledge about the essential elements in association management,” said Sal Martino, CAE, chair of the CAE Commission. “The CAE certification raises the bar for association professionals, and their achievement will help raise awareness about the importance of this credential in the association and nonprofit community.”

The CAE program serves to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and designate those who have acquired and can demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of association management. The CAE program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

To earn the CAE credential, candidates must first submit an application satisfying professional experience and education requirements. Successful applicants must next pass a challenging examination on all aspects of association management. Candidates undertake rigorous study sessions in preparation for the exam, and only those who are able to achieve the passing score earn the CAE credential. Once earned, the certification must be renewed every three years through additional studies and leadership activities.
