Last November, some of the area’s most dynamic women (and a few men) headed to the Capitol Hilton in Washington, DC, for the 11thannual In Honor of Women awards luncheon. The day began with a presentation by ASAE Career Headquarters’ Catherine Lux, who introduced Mentor Connector, ASAE’s new resource for matching mentors and mentees. With an already energized audience, the program moved on to a lighthearted, yet empowering general session led by Enid Borden, president of Meals on Wheels Association of America; Brenda Frese, University of Maryland’s women’s basketball coach; and Patti-Solis Doyle, Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign chief of staff. With Fox 5 anchor Shawn Yancy moderating, it was one of the best sessions to date and brought the audience to its feet.
