I'm a member of ASAE & The Center and would like to know…
Q. Who can be a member of ASAE & The Center? A. ASAE & The Center members include professionals from trade associations, professional societies and philanthropic organizations, other nonprofits, providers of services and products to associations, educators, government agencies, and other types of organizations that interact with the association industry. Q. Does my organization join ASAE & The Center, or do I join as an individual? A. Membership is individual. Multiple staff of one organization may hold individual memberships, but the organization as a whole is not a member. Even if your organization pays for your membership, you hold the membership-even if you decide to leave the organization. If fellow staff at your organization hold memberships, we suggest that your organization participate in the Circle Club to receive discounts on individual memberships and professional development opportunities. A. Your membership term is for one year beginning on the day you join ASAE & The Center. Individual members have individual renewal dates. Therefore, the amount for your first year of membership is the full dues amount. Q. Do you offer a special membership rate if several staff want to join? A. While we do not offer an organizational membership rate, we recognize several members from the same organization may want to take advantage of membership. Group rates are available for organizations with 25 or more members. Please contact our Member Relations team at 202-626-2727 to discuss this special opportunity. Q. May I pay for two years of membership dues at a time? A. Yes, simply note on your invoice that your are paying dues in advance. Q. If several of my co-workers are members, can we be billed at one time for all of our memberships? A. Yes, simply contact our Member Service Center at 1-888-950-2723 and a representative will work with you to streamline the renewal notices for your organization. A. No, memberships in your state and/or regional societies are separate. ASAE & The Center urge you to also join you state or regional society to gain full access to professional development and networking opportunities in your geographical area. A. You should begin to receive information via e-mail as soon as your membership is processed (please allow up to two weeks for payments by check). Your membership card and first issue of Associations Now magazine will be on your desk or doorstep 6 weeks after joining. A. Yes, your membership follows you as long as you work for an association or nonprofit--even if your organization paid the dues. When you begin your new position, please update your member record online or contact our Member Service Center at 1-888-950-2723 to update your contact information. A. Yes, on a prorated basis. You many transfer the membership to your new staff person or any other qualified staff person. Simply contact our Member Service Center at 1-888-950-2723 to request a transfer. Q. I am an association executive member and am currently in between association jobs. I am currently looking for another job in association management. Do you offer assistance for members in this situation?A. We are your professional society and are here for you in situations like this. We will extend your membership for six month periods (up to two years in a lifetime) and waive your dues while you are looking for a new association job. Please contact our Member Service Center at 1-888-950-2723 to enroll in our waiver of dues program. |
